Conducting Digital System

February

02.02. Worked whole day on the Turtle. Had difficulties on how to program a tree like function, meaning only have to change the fundamental tree then other things change accordingly. Øyvind to the rescue – came around 13:00 and stayed for a couple of hours. Wrote almost the whole program from scratch and left me with thousand things to think about and to learn and to do to finish the program. Have to go through zl in Max and exercise the use of lists.

03.02.  Found out how to connect the three lists that I needed to connect.

Have to connect a makenote object to play out and seq. object to export as MIDI. Other things to do: Adobe Premiere -> edit video from concerts – Rockheim and Jonsvatnet.

  1. Read about conducting
  2. Contact conductors about conducting theories
  3. Compose

Try to isolate the coll list function that I already have and see if the or how the list/index or index/list is working. Then try to copy it to the next.

29.02. – Composition.

Make 16 ideas for each instrument and put them into a magic square:

  1. Long note harm. 1.
  2. 2 long notes harm 1+2.
  3. 3 long notes harm 1+2+3.
  4. 3 short notes + long note.
  5. 3 short notes + 2 long notes
  6. 5 short notes + 3 long notes
  7. 8 short notes + 1 long note
  8. 5 short notes
  9. 8 short notes
  10.  1 long + 3 short + 2 long
  11. 3 long + 5 short + 1 long
  12. long note harm 2
  13. long note harm 3
  14. long note harm 4
  15. long note harm 5
  16. 13 short notes with semi-long
